FAQS & ADVICE

About the Litter

Why does my litter smell different?

First, check your formula’s scent in Find My Formula. Plant-based ingredients can have a mild natural smell, and different formulas may smell slightly different when wet. If a new bag smells noticeably unusual for that formula,or the litter appears damp, contact us with photos of the product and packaging.

Why can the pellets vary slightly in size, color, texture, or scent?

FUKUMARU uses plant-based materials, and different formulas may naturally vary in pellet length, firmness, color, texture, or scent. Slight differences may also occur between production batches and do not necessarily affect normal performance.

My bag is no longer vacuum-sealed. Can I still use it?

The vacuum seal is mainly used to keep the package compact during shipping. If the bag is intact, loss of vacuum alone does not affect normal use. If the bag is torn, the litter appears damp, or you notice anything unusual, contact us with photos before using it.

Usage of the litter

How long does one bag typically last?

For one cat, 12 lb typically lasts about 30 days, while 18 lb typically lasts about 45 days. Actual usage may vary depending on your cat, litter box size, litter depth, and cleaning habits.

How should I store my litter?

Store unopened and opened litter in a cool, dry place. Keep the bag closed after opening and protect the litter from moisture.

How should I dispose of used litter?

We recommend disposing of soiled litter and feces in the trash. For formulas marked as flushable, only flush small, fully dispersed clumps where permitted by local regulations. Break larger clumps into smaller pieces and flush separately. Do not flush litter if you use a septic system or if the litter has been mixed with a non-flushable product.

Troubleshooting

What if my cat is hesitant to use the new litter?

Introduce FUKUMARU gradually by mixing it with your cat’s current litter and increasing the amount over time. Keep the litter box in a familiar location and let your cat adjust at their own pace. Avoid changing the litter, litter box, and location all at once. See Switching Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Safety Reminder

Keep plastic bags away from children and pets. Cat litter is not intended for ingestion. If your cat consumes a significant amount or shows signs of discomfort, contact your veterinarian.
